Avocado Spread is a tangy, creamy and delicious paste that can be quite addictive.
It tastes great on just about anything you put it on. It’s perfect as an appetizer, spread on a cracker, bread or a burger. It even tastes great if you just want to lick it from the spatula (guilty!)
If you have a picky eater at home, I hear ya when you say how much you have to struggle to get him to eat something healthy or anything at all.
Well, as you know, avocado is often known as superfood because of is high nutrient value. My little one (between the ages of 18 months and 30 months) loved to eat avocado even if you gave him slices. But until recently, he does not want to have to do anything with this food (is it fruit or vegetable?).
How to make a delicious avocado spread?
So, avocado paste is what I tried few days ago. Added some cilantro leaves and lime juice to the avocado pieces and blended well. Made sandwiches with avocado paste, boiled potato stuffing, hot and sweet sauce. These came out just perfect. LO emptied his plate happily, and wanted some more.
Needless to say, we were happy with the outcome and plan to make it often.
5 Minute Avocado Spread
- 1 avocado Ripe
- 1 tbsp fresh cilantro
- 1/2 lime juiced
- Pinch of Salt
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth or at desired consistency.
I like it so that it still has a few creamy chunks of avocado, but is overall pretty smooth – that way it makes a great spread for your toast but still has some texture left. I usually use a fork, but my mom loves this little mashing gadget my grandma gave her for Christmas.
