It was so chilly and windy that it was hard to stand still on your two feet. I know, I know you are rolling your eyes and thinking, Gurki, what do you expect in mid January? Well, I could use a little warmer weather if you ask me, towards … lower …. single digits, you know? 🙂
Despite the weather blues, I am so thankful to my fitness and health routine lately that I feel great and full of energy, even in a weather like this. If it was like this last year when I wasn’t paying attention to my health, I’d have given another ultimatum to hubs to move to some place warmer. But I’m not complaining this year!
Thanks to this Blueberry and Avocado Smoothie that has become part of my mornings. I try to maintain healthy routine where I drink healthy smoothies every morning for breakfast. If I skip one for some reason, then I drink up after my workout routine.
When I started drinking this blueberry avocado smoothie at the beginning of this year, it took some time for me to get used to the taste (I am skeptical about consuming everything that is healthy!), but nowadays I find an excuse to fill me up with this antioxidants and fiber rich smoothie.
It only takes three ingredients and less than 5 minutes to prepare it. I am sure you are aware of my love for avocados. I try to sneak it in as many of my power foods as possible. This smoothie was no exception. Blueberries – well, this antioxidants rich fruit is not only delicious but super healthy!
In addition to avocado and blueberries, I used vanilla Greek yogurt and honey. If you want, you can use blueberry greek yogurt as well. For honey, you can use sugar or sweetener, whichever you prefer!
I love this power smoothie because not only does it help me nourish my physical health but also enhance my brain power. Who doesn’t want that kind of energy with an active toddler and extra demanding work schedule!
As you know, my major goal for this year is to lose weight, eat healthy and stay fit. My fitness planner helps me stay on track. I have recorded my weight, body measurements, my goals for the month. My meal planner tells me what I am going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If I stay on track with what I decided to eat that particular day, I write down the calories I consumed that day.

I never paid attention to how much water I was drinking earlier, and in winter it was sometimes no water at all the whole day. But since I started using tracker, I have been diligent in my water intake.

- 1 avocado pitted peeled
- 3 cups blueberries frozen
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt
- 1 cup water
Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Add more water to reach desired consistency.
