Scalloped Potatoes

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

There are numerous ways to make pleasant scalloped potatoes. Aimed at this version, we consulted several records – two James Beards, Kitchen Senseand the Joy of Cooking and more. Essentially you layer finely sliced potatoes through any number of trimmings – onions, parsley, and cheese – add milk or cream, as well as bake. The potatoes engross the liquid as they chef, the cheese thaws, the top becomes browned. Unique tip – use a low casserole bowl.
