Hi There! If you reached here while searching for something healthy yet delicious because you got sick and tired of eating (delicious) holiday food, you have arrived at the right place. With more than half of the festivals gone by, some remaining, I ‘m constantly finding myself gobbling up on holiday goodies, for no good reason.


Well, there is a good reason alright (I need to sample my cooking, and clean up the refrigerator), but not good enough reason for me to justify why I am eating so much fat and carbs. So, to curb myself from not grabbing my next chocolate crinkle cookie, I decided to do myself a favor, and make this breakfast avocado pear smoothie this morning.

I cannot tell you how glad I was to make this delicious, creamy and filling smoothie for breakfast!

I did not feel like eating anything for couple of hours, thanks to the good fat filled avocados. I love avocados for so many reasons, and always find an excuse to add them to my recipes every few days.

Super Healthy Breakfast Avocado Pear Smoothie


Being a vegetarian, I like using avocados and other similar fruits that provide protein to my daily nutrition value. They have double the amount of potassium as bananas. Do you know one of the biggest reason I like using avocados in my meals? The antioxidants found in this fruit actually reduce the signs of aging (who wouldn’t want that?), and it also helps prevents heart disease!

Ripe juicy pears and apples combined with honey add to the sweetness of this smoothie. Make sure to chop pears just before you start making the smoothie in order to retain their delicious juicyness. Make sure to use a ripe pear with soft juicy bite. I normally use Bartlett pears.

Spinach, who doesn’t know the benefits of spinach. Full of iron and green goodness, make this healthy breakfast smoothie super healthy. If you want, you can skip apple. This ultimate cleansing and detox smoothie is perfect for a filling breakfast!

  • 1 pear
  • 1/2 Avocado peeled
  • 1 apple chopped
  • 1/2 cup Spinach
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup Ice Cubes
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Adjust honey according to your taste. Enjoy!
