Green Beans with Caramelized Onions
Thinking of making an Easy Thanksgiving Side Dish? You can't go wrong with these green beans with caramelized onions, almonds and cashews.
Servings 6 servings
- 1 lbs Green Beans fresh
- 1 Onion thin sliced
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp Cashews chopped
- 2 tbsp Almonds skin on, sliced
- 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tbsp Lemon Juice
Parboil green beans in boiling water for about 5 minutes. Drain out the water and transfer to cold water to stop further cooking process. Drain the beans and dry thoroughly with paper towel.
Heat the olive oil in frying pan. Saute onions until caramelized. Add green beans and cook for about 5 - 7 minutes. Sprinkle salt and black pepper. Evenly mix with wooden spatula.
Add sliced almonds and cashews. Cook for another 1 - 2 minutes.
Transfer to serving plate. Sprinkle lemon juice on cooked beans. Serve as side dish for your Thanksgiving dinner.
