  • 1 lb of medium size shrimp (30 to 40 count)
  • 1 tbl garlic powder
  • 1 tbl beau monde seasoning (Its kind of like a seasoned salt. You can find it in the spice section on any grocery store.)
  • 10 slices of bacon, cut into thirds
  • Sometimes I will add other seasonings to the shrimp before I wrap them in the bacon.

  • Try:
dried dill weed sprinkled on both sides of shrimp
oregano and Parmesan cheese sprinkled on both sides
dry mustard powder, coat one side
    cajun spices, both sides coated
  • Cut the bacon into thirds and precook it for a few minutes. Make sure it is still flexible and not crisp. Drain on a paper towel and set aside.
  • Preheat broiler to 400°.
  • Rinse and dry the shrimp. Sprinkle both sides with the garlic powder and beau monde seasoning. Wrap the bacon around the shrimp, secure with a toothpick and place them seam side down on grate over a shallow baking pan.
  • Place pan in oven about 6 inches away from the broiler flame and cook 4 minutes. Turn and cook another 4 minutes until the bacon becomes crisp. (You can, instead, fry the shrimp and bacon wraps in a frying pan if you prefer for about 2 or 3 minutes on each side)
